Thank You For Making StarStruck 2008 a Success!
StarStruck 2008
With great elegance, Shell Factory Vice President Pam Cronin tangoed and fundraised her way to the StarStruck 2008 title Saturday at the International Design Center in Estero.
The event raised in excess of $100,000 for the American Red Cross of Lee County. As the chapter’s primary annual fundraiser, proceeds from StarStruck will play an important role in the operating budget for the Lee County Red Cross, a locally-funded non-profit organization providing programs and services to Lee County.
“For a second-year event, we were thrilled with how well StarStruck 2008 was received,” StarStruck 2008 Event Chair and Red Cross Board Member Cindy Starnes said. “Many attendees are already looking forward to next year! We wish to thank the sponsors, celebrities and professional dancers who generously supported the event. The American Red Cross of Lee County is grateful to have been the beneficiary of such a wonderful event.”
Cronin raised over $6,700 to take the top prize, which included votes from guests. Marshall Bower, the Executive Director for Lee County Public Schools, finished second, followed by Jim Dwyer of Dwyer’s Restaurant and Talamh LLC, JoAnne Holt, CPA, and Honora Jacobus of Gates, D’Alessandro and Woodyard, LCC.
The American Red Cross of Lee County would like to extend a sincere thank you to all celebrity and professional dancers from Aki’s Dance Studio, event emcee Robert Van Winkle, NBC-2 Chief Meteorologist, all in-kind donors, and all sponsors who were as follows: Chico’s Charities, FGCU Foundation, Gooderham and Associates, HomeTech, John Steakley CFP, Janet Marie Studios, Larson Allen, Lee Memorial Health System, Miromar Development Corp., Oswald Trippe and Co. Inc., SunTrust, Wachovia Securities and Wiltshire, Whitley, Richardson, English, PA.
